BIOGRAPHY

     Dipak Lama is a visual artist and founder of Aakar Kalaghar based in Kathmandu, Nepal. He graduated from Kathmandu University School of Arts, Center for Art and Design. His art practice includes painting, sculpture, installation and his exploration on sculpture and materials has been immense. The specialty of his art works are large scale works with a balance of form and space.

     He was awarded with a special award in Contemporary Sculpture in National Exhibition 2019, organized by Nepal Academy of Fine Arts. He has been actively participating in numerous exhibitions, projects, workshops, Art festivals and Events such as Kathmandu International Photo Festival edition 2015, 2016 and 2018 as production aide. Rrecently he was appointed the production Co-lead for Kathmandu Treinnale 2077, International art Festival and Photo Kathmadu 5, International Photo Festival 2023 at Kathmandu. Currently he is selected residency program for Waste to Art Project phase-II, at the Sagarmatha Next Centre organized by Saraf. Foundation. Besides art practices, he works as a freelancer as Production Mentor /Adviser for projects related with art field.
